Cape Coast dancehall artiste, Unruly Grank killed in knife attack

Fast-rising Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Emmanuel Aikins, famously known as Unruly Grank has been stabbed to death.

The incident occurred on Sunday, 7 February 2021 during a ‘rap battle’ in Cape Coast.

Eyewitnesses say the 24-year-old was stabbed during a misunderstanding between him and an artisan, Bright Ellis, 27, at the Orange Beach Resort.

Unruly Grank was pronounced dead at the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital where he was rushed to seek medical attention.

Confirming the incident, Deputy Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sergeant Isaac Evans Entie, told the media that a fight broke out between the suspect and another dancehall artiste in Cape Coast, over who was more popular when the two met for a ‘rap battle.’

The melee turned bloody among the artistes and their fans.

This led to Ellis stabbing Emmanuel.

Investigations into the incident has already begun.

Meanwhile, the mortal remain has been deposited at the morgue.
