After winning the Mixtape DJ of the year three consecutive times, the Ghana DJ Awards board has selected DJ Aberga also known as Daniel Mensah Badu, as one of its ambassadors for this year’s event and beyond.. This means he will no longer contest in the award scheme.
At a short ceremony held over the weekend in Accra, the founder of the Ghana DJ Awards annual event, Mercury Quaye, emphasized some key points considered in selecting DJ Aberga as one of its ambassadors.
Mercury noted that with the experience DJ Aberga has in the showbiz industry coupled with his vast knowledge in the disc jockey works, it will be much beneficial to most young DJs if he’s made a member of the organisers than to allow him to contest again.
He added that many young DJs are willing to join the awards scheme therefore the need to give them the chance by creating space.
On his part, DJ Aberga the Original 91.9FM presenter expressed his gratitude to the board for recognising his works in the industry and pledged his support to the award scheme.
He, therefore, urged all DJs across the country to partake in the Ghana DJ Awards stating it will give them exposure and open new doors in their chosen profession.
DJ Aberga added that the nomination alone on their curriculum vitae can do wonders for them in pursuit of a job as a disc jockey.
