Ace journalist and political analyst, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has expressed willingness to get vaccinated for the novel coronavirus disease.
According to him, taking risks propels one to be ahead of others in life and the COVID-19 vaccine gives him the opportunity.
“If I get the opportunity, I will take the vaccine. Not because I think It is risky to [take] but essentially because I believe in fighting this pandemic, we all have to take the risk”
“If you don’t take a risk you can’t get ahead of everybody and the vaccine presents the opportunity to take a risk which may, in the end, prove to be efficacious, so, that is why personally if I get the opportunity I will take the vaccine,” the managing editor, Insight Newspaper told Metro TV’s Annie Efua Ampofo Wednesday on Good Morning Ghana.
Conversation and anger towards Covid-19 vaccines have been renewed in Ghana following the arrival of 600, 000 doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines made by the Serum Institute of India (Covishield) on Wednesday, 24 February 2021 amidst a surge in Covid-19 cases in the country.
Scores of people who took part in Metro TV’s latest Vox pop said they will not take the vaccine because it is unsafe, citing various theories to back their claim.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has said the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines are quality, safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines and is a prerequisite for COVAX Facility vaccine supply.
