Ablakwa eulogizes late Kwasi Sainti Baffoe-Baffoe

North Tongu Constituency lawmaker, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has showered praises on the late Kwasi Sainti Baffoe-Bonnie, saying the Chief Executive Officer of the Network Broadcasting Company, Mother Company of defunct Radio Gold contributed immensely to the development of journalism in the country discovering celebrated media personalities such as Fiifi Banson, Kwame Sefa Kayi and a host of others.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency comments came in the wake of mourning the sad departure of the former media administrator and politician who passed away on February 1, 2021, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

He told Dr. Randy Abbey on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Friday, June 25, 2021, that even though Kwasi Sainti Baffoe-Bonnie exit is sorrowful, the thick-mustached public figure popularly known as ‘Babo’ will be forever be remembered for his catchy personality

He continued that he was “a very pleasant personality. A fine gentleman always in his characteristic hat. He was quite flamboyant.”

‘I like his fashion sense; very colorful. Folding his sleeves no matter the length. I like his unique capstans; very, very (sic) affable personality. His contribution to the media landscape in our country is forever edged in gold just as he was the first manager and the pioneer who really used Radio Gold to unearth a lot of talents like your good-self [Randy Abbey] which by all accounts has been a good discovery for the media landscape in our country. I can mention the likes of Kwami Sefa Kayi, Fiifi Banson, James Agyening Boateng, B.B Menson,” he noted.

Mr. Ablakwa further expressed his condolences to the media fraternity and sympathy to former President John Mahama and his better half Lordina noting that the deceased media perpetuator built good ties with the former first family.

“As we extend condolences to the media fraternity, to also extend heartfelt sympathies to former President Mahama, Mama Lordina, I know that he was very close to the family – one of the closest advisors. We all will join mourners this weekend beginning from the vigil tonight to pay our last respect. He has contributed immensely to the forward march or free expression to media freedoms in our country,” he added.
