The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States, left Ghana on Tuesday, 11 May 2021 to Kampala, capital of the Republic of Uganda, to attend the swearing-in of Yoweri Museveni, President-elect of Uganda.
He was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, and officials of the Jubilee House and Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Akufo-Addo is expected to return to Ghana on Wednesday, 12 April 2021.
In his absence, Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead.
