All basic schools across the country are expected to shut down on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
The schools will resume their academy activities from April 6
The break is to allow the school children to commemorate the Easter festivities.
This was captured in a communiqué released by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to all heads of public and private schools in the country.
As sighted by Original News, the statement urged all headteachers to comply with the directive and close the schools for the stated period
Easter is a Christian festival that celebrates the belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day after his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary.
