Keep off our lands – La chiefs warn Military

The chiefs and people of La have issued a stern warning to the Ghana Military to halt working on their lands which they claim is under contention.

They say an agreement that was reached between the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the La Stool, and the Military indicate that the said land which is close to the new military cemetery should be released to the chiefs and people of La.

However, the military is still working on the land with impunity and unauthorized powers just to snatch the land from them.

At a press conference on Friday 12 March 2021, the La Shikiteele (Kingmaker), Nii Adjei Koofeh IV explained how they are over 200 acres of land is being encroached forcefully by the military.

An act he emphasized that if not addressed with speed will cause mayhem.

He’s therefore calling on the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to step in immediately as the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces in order to avert any uprising by the La youth.

The Ghana Military did not immediately return Original News call for comments.
