The minimum price of a bag of sachet water has seen a 25 per cent increment.
This was contained in a communique issued by the National Association of Sachet and Bottled Water Producers – Ghana (NASBWP-G) Friday night.
According to the statement signed by the Interim Public Relations Officer of the Association, Korsi Asiseh, the increment was necessary due to the high cost of raw materials used to package the purified water.
The minimum price of a bag of pure water is therefore now expected to be purchased by all the trucks and depots at GHC 2.50 pesewas.
The figure is a jump from the GHC2.00 that retailers have been purchasing in the past.
“The sachet Drinking / Mineral Water Producers /Manufacturs wishes to inform its cherished customers and the general public, that the minimum price of a bag of sachet water been increased from GHC2.00 (two Ghana cedis) to GHC2. 50 (two Ghana cedis, the fifty pesewas)”.
“However, some producers are still selling at the old price but by Monday 8 2021 they will increase the price to GHS2. 50,” part of the statement read.
It added that,” we are grateful to all our customers and the general public for your cooperation”
