Motorists, Traders asked to vacate Asantehene’s ceremonial routes

Motorists and traders plying their trade along the ceremonial routes of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, have been asked to vacate the premises before Wednesday.

This is to allow the traditional leader of the Asante Kingdom to utilise the ceremonial routes for its purpose.

A statement released by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly signed by its Public Relation Officer, Mrs. Henrietta A. K. Aboagye, on April 25, 2021, said the move has become necessary following a letter received from the Chief Protocol Officer of the Asantehene announcing Otumfuo’s decision to use the route.

“His Royal Majesty, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II would be using the direct route from Manhyia through Apagyafie to Kejetia and Adum Palace for all traditional rites and that all traders who have blocked the right-of-way should vacate before Wednesday, April 28, 2021,” the statement added.

It further cautioned that “All traders who are currently plying their trade there are advised to move to their designated area to avoid undesired action by the security”
