Owusu Bempah denied bail; case adjourned to Sept. 20

Isaac Owusu Bempah, the head pastor of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, has been refused bail by an Accra Circuit Court and is to remain in police custody until September 20.

The clergyman was apprehended by the Ghana Police Service with three others on Sunday, September 12, 2021, after attacking and assaulting some officers deployed to his church to cause his arrest.

Rev. Owusu Bempah had invaded the residence of fetish priestess, Patience Aseiduaa, known popularly as Nana Agradaa.

In a viral footage, the preacher with close ties to the presidency was captured with his bodyguards brandishing weapons at the house of the fetish priest who had earlier infuriated him.

During court proceedings on Monday, the counsel for the respondent pleaded not guilty to all charges leveled against their client and sought bail for him.

But the court presided over by Her Lordship, Afia Owusuwaa Appiah denied the request ordering the preacher to remain in police custody.

He is to reappear on Monday, September 2021.
