Police launch investigations into Christ Embassy’s ‘breach’ of Covid-19 protocols

The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into the violation of the Covid-19 protocols by Christ Embassy Church, Airport City branch during a service.

The Pastor Chris Oyakhilome-founded church held a one-day event dubbed ‘Pneumatic Night’ on Friday, April 30, 2021, at the Fantasy Dome.

Per footages available on the internet thousands of people who gathered at the auditorium breached Covid-19 protocols mainly social distancing and the mandatory nose mask-wearing directives.

In a statement on Sunday, the Police said the leadership of Christ Embassy Church tailed to notify them of the church’s intended programme as due of them.

According to the Police, as a result, they didn’t provide any security for the church during the event which attracted about 20,000 congregants.

The Fantasy Dome has since been closed pending the conclusion of investigations.
