The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Bagbin has accepted the resignation of the North Tongu lawmaker, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa from the Appointments Committee.
It follows a letter Ablakwa wrote to the Speaker intimating his decision to step down from the committee.
Although he was tight-lipped on what informed his resignation, he noted that it is personal and based on principle.
Following the meeting, the former Education Minister took to Twitter to announce the acceptance of his resignation letter.
“Concluded a fruitful and frank meeting with Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban S.K. Bagbin a while ago.”
“I am enormously grateful to him for accepting my resignation from the Appointments Committee of Parliament.,”
