Two male teenagers are in the grips of the Kasoa Divisional Police Command in the Central Region for allegedly murdering a 10-year-old boy.
The suspects said to be aged 18 and 19 respectively lured their victim only identified as Ishmael into an uncompleted building at Lamptey Mills, a suburb in Kasoa, and killed him.
The incident, according to sources, happened around 6 pm on April 3, 2021.
They reportedly hit the 10-year-old boy with an object which caused his death instantly.
Multiple reports allude a fetish priest in the Volta Region the suspects contacted requested they bring body parts for ritual.
His body has been posited at the hospital for preservation and awaiting autopsy.
Police have, however, begun investigations into the incident.
The mother of the victim, Hajia Sahadatu, who was weeping uncontrollably told local media she was devastated by her son, Ishmael’s demise.
Recalling their last moments, Madam Sahadatu said she saw her son playing video games in their home only to wake up from a nap to be greeted with the news of his death.
According to her, the suspects are friends to her family and occasionally feed on their meal, however, murdering her son is a great surprise.
Angry residents have registered their displeasure with the suspects and called on the Ghana Police Service to ensure they face the music.
They said the 18-year-old and 19-year-old suspects should be punished accordingly for their crimes.
If the suspects are released unpunished, some residents said they might be tempted to revenge the murder of the 10-year-old boy.
