Change Ledzokuku MCE nominee; he doesn’t understand our language – Aggrieved youth to Akufo-Addo

Aggrieved concerned youth in the Ledzokuku Constituency are appealing to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to as a matter of urgency change his Municipal Chief Executive nominee to the assembly.

The Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Mr. Dan Botwe, released the list of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) nominees by President Akufo-Addo pending approval by the assembly members through a two-thirds majority votes.

Mr. Botwe released the much-awaited list of MMDCEs nominees on Sunday afternoon, September 19, 2021.

Whiles some nominees have sailed through successfully, others are having tough times either from the constituents or from the assembly members.

The President’s nominee for the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly is different from that. Mr. Mordecai Quarshie is facing stiff opposition from the youth who claims he’s not an indigene and also doesn’t speak nor understand their Ga language thus he’s unfit for the job.

They claim that alone is enough for the president to change him immediately since he may not be able to communicate with them.

Failing to do so, will result in an uprising against the nominee if he goes through, they affirmed.

Stanley Ashie, who spoke on behalf of the aggrieved concerned youth of Ledzokuku said they would advise themselves if the government does not heed to their advice and maintain his nominee.
