Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Yeboah, says he will vie for the General Secretary position in the governing party.
Speaking to Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, the legal practitioner indicated that plans are far advanced to lead the NPP as a General Secretary if the party lifts the ban on campaigning
“I have made party executives aware if they lift the ban I will contest for the position of General Secretary,” the NPP Deputy General Secretary said Original 91.9FM’s Adwenekasa socio-political programme.
The leadership of the governing NPP has banned possible aspirants from campaigning even though some prominent members of the party have flouted the directives.
Obiri Boahen noted that he will not be tempted by those party scribes breaching the directives and also hit the streets to campaign stating he’ll abide by the rules and regulations.
He, however, mentioned that if the ban is lifted his campaign will be devoid of hate speech and any other message which will plunge the party into chaos.
