Mahama and Lordina take COVID-19 vaccine

Former President John Dramani Mahama and his wife Lordina Mahama have received a dose of the initial consignment of COVID-19 vaccines which arrived in the country on Wednesday, February 24.

They took their dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine at the Police Hospital in Accra at 10 am.

It comes a day after President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia together with their wives became the world’s first recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine from COVAX.

“It is important that I set the example that this vaccine is safe by being the first to have it so that everybody in Ghana can feel comfortable about taking this vaccine,” President Akufo-Addo said in a broadcast after taking the vaccine.
