‘Maybe Allotey Jacobs walks with his stomach’ – Yaw Ahenkwah

Jamah North lawmaker, Frederick Yaw Ahenkwah says he believes the former Central Region chairman of the NDC Bernard Allotey Jacobs “walks with his stomach” the reason he has ditched the opposition party.

According to Mr. Yaw Ahenkwah, the former scribe of the National Democratic Congress had several opportunities in the party, and betraying it to sympathize with the governing NPP connotes he is not loyal and follows the money.

“Maybe he (Allotey Jacobs) walks with his stomach. What should we say? Within the NDC party what position didn’t he get, have you heard him give any tangible reason since he left the NDC?” he quizzed on Original 91.9FM’s Adwenekasa show on Wednesday, March 17.

This follows a comment by the third National Vice Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Michael Owari Wadie on Original 91.9FM on Wednesday morning that Mr. Jacobs “saw the light” thus NPP and left the NDC.

In a quick rebuttal, the Member of Parliament for the Jamah North Constituency who was also on the Adwenekasa socio-political show said Allotey Jacobs left the NDC because of his love for money anything short of that is untrue.

A letter addressed to Allotey Jacobs and signed by the National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, said he was suspended for “persistent anti-party conduct”.

“The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress, acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, at its meeting held on Wednesday, the 6th day of May 2020, has suspended you forthwith as a member of the party, pursuant to articles 46(1), 46(6) and 46(8) of the party’s constitution for your persistent anti-party conduct,” the letter indicated

I no longer belong to the NDC

Allotey Jacobs has said he is no longer a member of the umbrella family.

“I no longer belong to the NDC. I’m not interested to be part of NDC,” Allotey Jacobs said on Original 91.9FM’s Adwenekasa on Friday, March 5, 2021.

According to him, the largest opposition party detests the uncomfortable truth making them reject the outcome of the 2020 presidential election and subsequently contesting its validity at the Supreme Court.

“The whole brain behind petitioning the Supreme Court is, the National Executives of the NDC was trying to play with the minds of their supporters. They have lost the election and in order to win their support, they decided to take the matter to court because when things were getting out of hand they realized, they’ve deceived their supporters and their supporters went to the street.

“And, you know, in Ghana we loathe violence, so, from time immemorial the NDC has been tagged as a violence party then this issue came up ‘we have won’ when you know very well in your heart {that] you lost the election,” he told Kwaku Owusu Adjei popularly known as Pato.

He added, “You don’t even have the pink sheets and look at the witnesses you sent to court to be your witness you sent to court. What they said, very disgraceful.”
