Speaker grants minority’s vote by headcount application

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Bagbin has granted a vote by headcount application by the Minority caucus in Parliament.

The House will be going through head counting of all MPs present in the chamber to determine the adoption or rejection of the 2021 annual budget.

At this juncture, if more NPP numbers are present, this will probably translate to a yes vote, which means the budget statement for the year 2021 has been adopted by the House.

If it goes otherwise, that would also mean that the 2021 annual budget has been rejected by Parliament.

Simply put, if NDC gets more numbers, it means the 2021 budget has been rejected and if the NPP majority also gets more numbers, it means that the budget has been adopted.
